Corporate Giving: Powell Group Fund

The Powell Group Fund was established at the Baton Rouge Area Foundation in appreciation of The Powell Group’s employees whose productivity make it possible for The Powell Group to give back to the community. The purpose of the fund is to support non-profit organizations demonstrating they have planned their projects with respect to the community’s greatest opportunities, particularly in the areas of arts and humanities, community development, education, environment, health care, and human services. Since origination, The Powell Group Fund has helped over one hundred non-profit organizations in the Baton Rouge, LA, Lake Charles, LA, Panama City, FL and Sioux City, IA geographic areas, donating more than one million dollars. A few of the organizations the fund has helped include:

• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana
• Literacy Council of Southwest Louisiana, Inc.
• Family and Youth Counseling Agency
• City of Le Mars
• Opportunities Unlimited
• Camp High Hopes
• General Health Foundation
• Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, Inc.
• Teach for America - South Louisiana
